I created a music set for a MMIW fundraising event and have since performed it at others, using samples from news and the track ‘Baby Girl’ by SoloCree, driven by my commitment to raising awareness as someone from a family of strong Indigenous women.

After the murder of her (Harpe’s) mother and friends in Edmonton, she has been advocating for murdered and missing Indigenous women through speech and song including the popular song Somebody’s Daughter.

JB the First Lady’s song “Still Here” builds upon the theme of empowerment and addresses many issues faced by the Indigenous communities, including missing and murdered Indigenous people.
