This website provides active information on missing Indigenous peoples and helps to connect people, share resources, and locate people. It is run primarily by family members, friends, and colleagues of missing peoples.

AWAN was established in 1995 in response to a pressing need for an Aboriginal women’s group to provide a much needed voice for Aboriginal women’s concerns regarding governance, policy making, women’s rights, employment rights, violence against women, Indian Act membership and status, and many other issues affecting Aboriginal women in contemporary society.

The Bear Clan Patrol started in Winnipeg’s North End in 1992 to provide security for homeless population. Today, they have expanded to other provinces and ensure a visible presence on the streets in order to promote and provide safety and conflict resolution. Working on a voluntary basis, they provide rides and early response to situations.

This website by Ontario Native Women’s Association offered a place to share stories, information and tools to help the families of missing and murdered Indigenous women in Ontario. The website is not currently active, but an archive of it remains.

This organization spans across most of Canada, and has the goal of assisting Indigenous men who are trying to leave the lifestyle of crime, violence, and addiction. They also provide mentoring, food and clothing, as well as peacekeeping services to events, functions and hostile environments.

The Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre (DEWC) is a membership-driven organization with the mission of providing a safe, non-judgmental environment for self-identifying women (cis, trans, 2S), from all walks of life, who live and/or work in the Downtown Eastside.

Esquao – The Institute for the Advancement of Aboriginal Women, based in Edmonton with chapters across Alberta, is a non-profit organization focused on justice initiatives, fostering relationships with government, police, and communities, and addressing the 231 Calls for Justice from the National Inquiry’s final report.

The helpline was launched by the New Brunswick Aboriginal Peoples Council as part of the larger Looking Out For Each Other campaign in Canada and Quebec and it is staffed by Gignoo Transition House, an Indigenous safe house in Fredericton. The helpline number is 1-833-MMI-FIND and operates 24 hours a day.

The First Nations Family Support Group was created by Regina Treaty/Status Indian Services when the national inquiry into missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls stopped in Saskatoon in 2017. Their activities include beading, sewing, talking circles, and field trips to learn about traditional medicine.
