A native artist from Kenora, ON, tattoos clients on the 14th of each month, donating the day’s earnings to support justice for the missing, beginning with a tribute to Delaine Copenace after consulting her mother.

The Rainbow Butterfly warming hut in Winnipeg honours MMIWG2S+ by featuring inscribed Calls for Justice and providing a space for reflection and reconciliation.

Crissy Slater from Winnipeg turned a fundraising effort to send her daughter on a grad trip into a thriving business, creating and selling apparel with designs like “Under the Moon” to honour missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls, thus providing her children opportunities she never had.

RRC Polytech collaborated with Métis artist Shayre Curé to create a Red Shirt design that honours MMIWG2S, with proceeds supporting Indigenous students.

Resist Clothing Company, an Indigenous-owned brand in Tkaronto, has launched a collection to raise awareness for MMIWG2S+, featuring t-shirts, hoodies, long sleeves, and accessories with messages like “No More Stolen Sisters” to advocate for justice and honour the victims. A portion of the proceeds go to Indigenous-led organizations that protect and uplift women.

ReeCreeations focuses on empowering Indigenous Peoples and enhancing their visibility by designing and creating ribbon skirts, often custom-ordered in memory of loved ones and MMIW, to encourage taking up space unapologetically.

The painting, titled “Still Dancing,” was inspired by the concept that dancers represent those who cannot, including the sick, elders, and those who have passed. Created with Berta KaKinoosit as the model, it was donated to the Montreal Native Women’s Shelter to raise awareness of Missing and Murdered women in Canada, with the hope of ensuring that none are forgotten.

JB the First Lady’s song “Still Here” builds upon the theme of empowerment and addresses many issues faced by the Indigenous communities, including missing and murdered Indigenous people.

The artwork features a woman in red, symbolizing Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women, surrounded by community support and connectedness to nature.”
