On October 10, 2024, supporters in Winnipeg honoured Tanya Nepinak on her 45th birthday, marking 13 years since her disappearance, and called for renewed efforts to search local landfills for her remains.

On October 4, 2024, the annual Sisters in Spirit Walk in Penticton, British Columbia began at the SS Sicamous and proceeded to Gyro Park. Participants walked alongside trees adorned with red dresses, representing the lives lost to violence against Indigenous women. The walk aimed to raise awareness about MMIWG2S, to honour their lives, and to call for justice and change.
