U of T Community Walk and Attendence to Strawberry Ceremony for MMIWG
On February 14, 2023, over 500 people, including members of the University of Toronto’s First Nations House, gathered for the 18th annual Strawberry Ceremony at the Toronto Police Services headquarters to honour missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and two-spirit individuals, featuring victim names, smudging ceremonies, and strawberries, led by Mi’kmaw Elder Wanda Whitebird to protest police inaction and highlight systemic violence.
