Labeled: The Missing, Murdered, and Forgotten

This virtual documentary from CBC Radio One’s The Current uses VR technology to tell the story of Ramona Wilson, an Indigenous girl missing since 1994. The documentary was directed Anishinaabe filmmaker Lisa Jackson, who says virtual reality technology is powerful because it means the viewer is implicated.

A documentary focused on the disappearances of Indigenous women along the Highway of Tears and how the RCMP has failed to handle these multiple cases. It initially aired on Al Jazeera International in 2006, with Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy as director and reporter.
